Ariel Welcome to Chile!!

So many of ya'll have no idea who Ariel Hoffman is, well he is a friend from college who is studying abroad in Argentina.  He made his way to Chile before his program begins.
So Fiona, Ariel, and I went to Valparaíso, Chile Thursday night for the weekend.  The rest of my program was meeting us the following day.  We get to Valparaíso at night and head straight to our hostel...at first glance our hostel looks really shitty and ghetto, but once you get inside its super cute and the owner, Pailar is sooo nice.  We immediately got dressed and went to explore.  We found this bar, filled with older people, all dancing to a combination of 80's, 90's, and now.  We were probably the youngest people there.  We also saw some authentic chilean dancing...we had an early night because we wanted to start our day early.

We woke up the next morning and had breakfast and begin our adventure to explore the city.  We took a trolley up a hill the view was gorgeous and we had a really nice lunch and then began to walk again.  We were walking and from a far we saw a girl who looked exactly like Cara, and low and be hold it was Cara. Just walking randomly through Valpo.  We went to the fruit market and we got some delicious fruits (I seriously bought the best mango ever!!!!  Tio Shaye would be super proud).  Since I am such an old fart, I had to go back to the hostel to take a nap.  Our friend Mia met up with us at our hostel because she was going to stay there for the night.  Ariel and I had our own version of Shabbat Dinner.  I must say we are super cute!  Then later that night the girls and I were getting ready to go to 'El Huevo'.  Its this ridiculously crazy club that is four floors high and each floor has a different theme of music.  I dressed like I was in the 70's it was awesome!!!!  So we got to the club and met up with the rest of our group.  This club is seriously just absolutely ridiculous...my favorite floor is Reggaeton.  I loveeee getting my latino groove on!  And of course a night couldn't be complete without Haya and Fiona getting something on the streets to eat.  There is this guy with a cart bbq-ing meat on a stick.  Seriously incredible!!!  We sit on a bench and devour our food.  We didnt get home til 530am.

The next day we were all soooo exhausted that we just wanted to lay by the beach.  Oh how lovely it is to be able to just pass out on the beach with no worries...NOT!!!  We were all just relaxing when all of a sudden this HUGE wave washes over us and all our belongings.  What a bummer!  We then walked to market and got some vegetables to make food.  I had the best salad and corn on the cob ever!!!!  I was sooo exhausted and I had to rest up because I was going to the club again.  I took like a three hour nap and began to get ready again.  We met the cutest chilean couple ever in the hostel and began to talk to them.  They too were going to the same club so we walked with them.  Oh brother!!!!  Most of my friends on the program also stayed and went back to the club.  Ariel didnt go the night before so I was super excited to see his reaction when we entered the club.  Ariel loved it!  A cute chilean girl asked one of our friends to ask Ariel to see if he wanted to dance with her.  I must say I felt like I was in elementary school, but she was cute so I'll give her a pass.  The salsa danced all night.  We of course didn't get back til 530am again!  I seriously have no idea how I do it.

So the next day Fiona, Ariel, the chilean couple, and I went to Reñaca to go to the beach.  The beach was sooo pretty and just super relaxing.  We had lunch and then took a bus back.  It was seriously an incredible and relaxing!
