Spring Break flew soooo quickly!

Sorry everyone for the delays on posting.  This past week I was on my spring break with Mia and Fiona.  We went to Bariloche, Argentina.  I have to say that it was seriously one of the best spring break trips of my life!  You guys have got to look at the pictures, just click on the chilean flag on the right side.

So we left Thursday March 10 and took a plane to Puerto Montt.  On the plane ride they gave us dinner and drinks.  Now unlike the US they provide alcoholic drinks, so of course living the life we ordered wine with our drinks.  Fiona and I asked for a glass of white and red wine, Mia just asked for a glass of red wine.  Feeling pretty good from the wine, we each asked for three more glasses each, keep in mind that these drinks are completely free!  So we arrived at Puerto Montt at night and went straight to our hostel.  This hostel was run by the cutest old woman who made the best homemade marmalades ever!
We woke up early the next morning to go to the bus station to take a bus to Bariloche.  Dany was already in Bariloche because his spring break began earlier than ours.  Six hours later we have arrived to one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.  We head straight to our hostel where Dany was waiting for us.  We were all sooooo excited to begin our adventures.

That night we (Mia, Fiona, Dany, Scott, Alex, and I) all went out for Fiona's 21st birthday!  We went to a club, one of the only clubs in Bariloche and had such an incredible time.  We seriously danced the night away.
The following day we walked around the city, got ice cream, and took tons of pictures.  Not taking a break from eating we went out to dinner for Fiona's birthday, I got trout...it was delicious!

We attempted to rent sleeping bags because we wanted to camp out on top of a mountain, but unfortunately every store was closed on Sundays.  Instead, we went to a feria that had all this incredible foods!  Then we began our journey back into the city and stopped to hike this hill that overlooks the entire city.  Mia and I took our time climbing up the hill and when we finally made it, our mouths dropped.  I took a video of the place because pictures were just not cutting it for me.  Check it out by clicking on the chilean flag.
So on the way down from the hill was a completely different experience.  Dany and I got separated from the girls and basically took a wrong turn and got completely lost.  Losing day light I begin to panic!  I have never been so scared in my life, we start to backtrack and return to the place from we started...not being in the best of shape, I almost passed out from running so much uphill.  Lets just say, it was pitched black and I begin to pray to G-d to help us find our way, and an hour later we found our way.  Having such a traumatic experience everyone thought we should take it easy that night.

The following day we set out to rent sleeping bags and began to trek up a huge mountain where there was a hostel on top of the mountain.  It took us five hours to hike up hill, I personally thought I was not going to make it, but I did!!!!  The views were absolutely breathtaking!  I am seriously not doing Bariloche justice by just describing the scenery and our adventures...I really wish everyone could go see this city because it is a place I have never been before and probably will never go back.
We only stayed in that hostel for one night and the following morning, we woke up early to trek back down the mountain.  Dany was leaving that day and had to make his flight.
Once Dany left, the girls and I set out for another town, El Bolson.  It is a hippie town two hours from Bariloche.  We got there and head to the supermarket to buy food for dinner and to snack.  Our plan was to go bike riding the next day and then hike up this gorgeous trail the following day.  Lets just say we never stick to our plans.  We did rent bikes for the day, but unfortunately it began to rain and also the trail we were taking was completely made of gravel.  Our bums were in soooo much pain!  We were in so much pain that we could not even go on the hike that we were planning on doing.  Instead we went to the feria (fair) and went shopping.  Then we went to this forest reservation to read our book and have a picnic.  It was so incredible and relaxing.

I could not believe that our trip was coming to an end because I definitely did not want to go back to Santiago.  Our last night in Bariloche we stayed in this hostel that was so beautiful and just so peaceful.  We met two incredibly amazing people, Hanah and Eben.  I loved hearing about their lives because both just left their homes and came to South America to work and travel.  They work in hostels and basically have no plan.  It definitely got me excited and jealous at the same time.  I began to think of how much I just wanted to start my life and just travel all over the world.
We arrive back in Santiago yesterday, and today I still feel a little sad for leaving Bariloche.
