So today my Clase de Negocios (spanish business class) went to Bolsa Comercial (the stock-market). Now mind you we were all getting hyped up seeing all the movies about how crazy and loud the stock-market, filled with people. Well we were in for a surprise.
We get to this old beautiful, antique looking building and step inside. This place has tons of different offices and we step into the big hall. Silence flew upon us. There was maybe max 5 people who came in and out. We were a little shocked and disappointed because it was nothing as we pictured it. The head guy told us there was nobody here because everything is done electronically now. All you need is a computer and people can work from home. Oh you lazy Chileans, hate getting out of your bed to go to work. We saw all the different shares flowing with numbers, and also there were roughly like only 15 different stocks. Very small compared to the U.S.
Even though it was not what we expected it to be, it was actually pretty neat. The building was beautiful, and hey! How many people can say they went to the stock market in Chile?
Bet not that many!!
