El Fin de Semana

I apologize for having miss so many days of writing.  I figured I will kill two birds with one stone and write about my entire weekend.  Since the weekend starts on Thursday here, thats where I will begin.

So Thursday, three of my friends made appointments to swim at my pool.  I am only allowed to have 3 friends at a time to come to my pool and my three friends: Kate, Eben, and Willie scheduled a time a week in advance.  A little ridiculous I know, but what can I say!

That night my friends: Eben, Willie, Brett, Cy, Steph, Morgan, Fiona, and I went to the park near my house to begin our festivities.  The wine here is soooo good and super cheap, so of course we had to bring wine to our festivities.  My friend Steph wanted to meet up with her chilean friends so they picked us up and took us to their friends birthday.  We get there and the house is incredible...I mean they were loaded like woah!!!  It was a mansion to say the least.  We get to the party and there are seriously no girls, a birthday party full of guys.  Well of course our guy friends were upset that there were no chilean girls to mack on.  The father of the birthday boy was also partying with them.  Picture this: a 50something year old man, married, has kids, i bet is in a midlife crisis, and basically thinks he is hot stuff.  He begins to flirt with one of my friends and she of course was not having it.  Embracing my hispanic blood I completely call out the father.  Telling him he is disgusting and he seriously needs to check himself.  He of course gets offended and says he wasn't doing anything, but I knew better.  So we finally leave the house and right away I knew these guys were slimeballs.  We get to this club were they were charging people 5000 pesos (about $11)!  I am like hellssssnooo...so I go up to the guy at the entrance and told him, "Es el cumpleaños de mi amigo y estamos de los Estados Unidos." ("It's our friends birthday and we are from the United States") and he immediately dropped the price to 2000 pesos! GO HAYA GO HAYA!  Miraculously I sneak in and I dont even have to pay.

FYI: for all my lady friends, I met the perfect man for you: tall dark and handsome, JEWISH, chilean, and religious!  Any takers just let me know!

Friday:
I slept through my alarm and immediately had a panic attack because I have to meet the people from my program at 845am to go on a field trip.  I leave my house w/in 2 sec. and start running to the metro.  I brought my toothbrush and toothpaste to brush my teeth on the way.  I made it on time, seriously had noooo idea how I pulled that one.  We went to Pomaire, which is a small town where the specialize in pottery.  We saw a guy make a pot super fast.  It was a cute small town.  Then we went to Isla Negra to see Pablo Neruda's house, he is a famous poet who won the nobel peace prize.  His house is incredible because it is right next to the beach.  When I make millions of dollars, I will totally buy his house.  It's incredible.

Saturday:
Brett, Fiona, Jef, Eben and I went to Valparaiso to go to the beach.  I love how I can just get up and take a bus and go all over this country for pretty cheap.  We went to the farmer's market and I got myself some ceviche for lunch!  Then we walked to the beach.  The waves at the beach were seriously like 15 feet high!!!!  Jeff and I wanted to play in the water, but the water was soooo strong that it would pull us in and I would be scared to drown.  I got knocked down and the sand scrapped me that I began to bleed on my thigh and foot.  It was really rough.  Picture me attempting to pee in the ocean, I would squat for a second, see a huge ass wave and run for my life and then attempt it again.  Put it this way, it was a complete failure.  I had to hold it til we went to a restaurant.  We got back from the beach at 930pm, and Fiona was like alright guys we will meet at the park at 11pm.  Damn!!! I have to rush take a shower and get ready to go out!  I can't do this anymore...but I am a trooper and I go out dancing again.  When I come back home I will seriously be an expert merengue and salsa dancer!

Sunday:
My family and I had a picnic in the backyard!!!

Thats all for now
