So this is one of the best weekends ever!!! Lets just say I ate sooooo much meat that now I have a meat baby growing in my stomach.
Lets begin, Friday night my brother invited me to go to an asado at his friend's house. We picked up his friends: Loco, Javier y Blaze. When we got to his friends house I was the only girl. I was really hoping that there will be some girls showing up later, fortunately there were but they did not talk to me. I was hanging out with my brother's friends the entire time. For us americans, once it turns 12am our body begins to slow down and we begin to fall asleep. Well at least thats what happens to me. For some reason I always get super tired when I am around them. They think that I am such a loser and I need to become more Chilean. Their goal is to turn me into a Chilean, stay up and party all night and be able to do it again the following night. Ya do not know if I will be able to keep up with them. We left the party because we had to wake up early to go horseback riding.
The following day my brother, loco, and his other friend (unfortunately I forgot his name) drove to their other friend's house which is like 30 min. away to go horseback riding. We got to this gorgeous house! The backyard is huge...there are fruit trees growing and I picked a peach and ate it right off the tree. It was delicioso! We had to wait a little while before we could go horseback riding, so we went to the grocery store to get some meat for our asado. These boys really know how to bbq, I must say. We had a preasado of meat and played in the pool. Afterwards we set off to begin our adventure. Since this was my first time really riding a horse, they gave me the most calm and obedient horse. Her name was 'Queen.' We each had our own horses, I was terrified in the beginning because my friend scared me saying that his friend fell off a horse and was seriously injured. I did not want that to happen to me. Once in a while my horse begin to gallop super fast and I was terrified!!! I kept trying to make it slow down, but sometimes it would be like, "Haya come on!!!! I won't drop you, I want to go fast!" I had to be the dominant figure and make it do what I wanted to do. We were riding for about 3 hours, and then headed back to the house. We immediately began to cook another asado. So much meat!!! I probably ate more than any of those guys. Gosh how I love meat!
We do not get home until 10:30pm and my friends are waiting for me at the park to go out. I invited the boys to come out with me and meet my friends from my program. I quickly change, without taking a shower, and head to the park.
(on a side note: I am wearing the most fliate- a dirty chilean- outfit ever! It's super funny, when Fiona puts up the pictures I will put it on the blog)
We go to this really fun dance club and dance the night away. I do not get home til 6am.
The next day we woke up at 10am to go on a mini-hike/asado/going in the river. Eben, Fiona, Steph, Morgan, Brett, Loco, Rana, and my brother all squeezed into Loco's car to begin our adventure. We first go to the grocery store to get food for the asado. I know another asado! Then we head on over to the park...Loco informs us that we had to pay to enter the park. Unfortunately, some of my friends and I did not have enough money, so Loco came up with a brilliant plan to sneak people in. Now how do you ask we pull that off? Fiona and I lay in the trunk and they put a tarp over us so the guards wouldn't see us. Pretty ridiculous but it worked. So we walk like 15min from our car and get to this incredible place. There is a river and mountains surrounding us! I won't do any justice just describing this place. Check out my pictures to see how pretty it was. On the way to our spot we found bushes of berries!!! We went insane eating hundreds of black berries. They were so delicious! Once we arrived at our spot we began our asado and to relax by the river. This place was incredible, I took a nap on a big rock. I seriously felt like I was in heaven.
What an incredibly fun and relaxing weekend!

Mamita, tu has montado a caballo muchas veces. Te recuerdas en Ft. Davis? Las fotos del parque son tan bellas y parecieran como si fuera el Jardin del Eden. Esta precioso. Me vas a tener que dar las recetas de los asados. Cuidate y mandale saludos a tus amigos :~)
sounds like an epic weekend!!
they can cook an asado for anytime...
